Exploring the Instructor Behind the Lessons
About Me
I’m Sanjula Nadeeshani, an entrepreneur, Computer Science professional, and ICT educator committed to shaping the next generation of technology talent in Sri Lanka.
I am the Founder and Lead ICT Educator of ITsphere Digital Academy (itpanthiya.lk), where I deliver English-medium ICT and programming education designed to combine strong academic performance with practical, career-relevant skills.
Through ITsphere, I conduct G.C.E. Advanced Level and Ordinary Level ICT programmes, together with a 6-month Full-Stack Programming programme covering areas such as Python, C++, SQL, HTML, CSS, PHP, Advanced Excel, Software Engineering concepts, and IT Project Management.
My classes are conducted physically in SyZyGy Institute - Nugegoda, SyZyGy Institute - Gampaha, Sigma Institute - Kirulapone, and Yahansa Institute - Kiribathgoda, while our online programmes allow students from across Sri Lanka to participate through live classes, recorded lessons, practical sessions, unit tests, revision programmes, and model paper discussions.
Academic & Professional Background
I have completed my Master of Science (MSc) in Computer Science at Staffordshire University, United Kingdom, with a Merit Pass.
As part of my Master's degree, I conducted research titled “Evaluating the Effectiveness of Cyber Hygiene Education in Preventing Phishing Attacks Among A/Level Students.” This research explored how cybersecurity education can strengthen students' awareness, decision-making, and resilience against phishing attacks.
The knowledge gained through my academic research continues to influence my teaching, particularly in areas such as cybersecurity awareness, responsible technology use, and the development of practical digital skills.
My professional qualifications and memberships include:
MSc in Computer Science – Staffordshire University, United Kingdom – Merit
Professional Member (MBCS) – BCS, The Chartered Institute for IT, United Kingdom
Professional Graduate Diploma in IT – BCS, The Chartered Institute for IT, United Kingdom
My Journey
Before establishing and expanding my own educational programmes, I gained experience working with students and clients internationally.
I became a Verified Computer Science Tutor on Preply, teaching international students following qualifications and curricula such as GCSE, OCR, and Edexcel. I was also recognised as the first Sri Lankan verified tutor within Preply's Computer Science category.
Alongside education, I worked as a Top Rated freelancer on Upwork, producing technical reports, technology-related documentation, and Requests for Proposals (RFPs) for clients in the United States, United Kingdom, and Europe.
These experiences helped me develop an approach to education that goes beyond textbooks and examinations. I believe students should understand not only what they need to learn, but also how that knowledge is applied in universities, workplaces, businesses, and the global technology industry.
My Approach to Teaching
My teaching philosophy is built around three areas: understanding, application, and results.
ICT should not be taught purely as a subject to memorise for an examination. Students should be able to understand the theory, apply it through practical activities, solve unfamiliar problems, and develop the confidence to work independently with technology.
For this reason, my programmes combine:
Strong coverage of Sri Lankan examination requirements
Practical programming and laboratory activities
Real-world ICT and Computer Science applications
Regular assessments and unit tests
Model papers and examination preparation
Problem-solving and analytical thinking
Career-oriented programming and technical skills
My aim is to create students who are prepared not only to perform well at examinations, but also to continue successfully into higher education and technology careers.
What Drives Me
I am passionate about expanding access to high-quality English-medium ICT and Computer Science education in Sri Lanka.
Through ITsphere Digital Academy, my goal is to create a pathway where students can progress from school-level ICT education to programming, university studies, and eventually professional careers in technology.
I want my students to leave the classroom with more than examination results. I want them to develop confidence, technical competence, independent thinking, and the ability to adapt to a rapidly changing digital world.
Whether a student is working towards an A/L or O/L examination, preparing for university, learning programming for the first time, or developing skills for a future career, my objective remains the same:
to provide the knowledge, guidance, practical exposure, and opportunities needed to move forward with confidence.
If you are a student, parent, educational institution, or organisation interested in ICT education, programming, academic collaboration, or technology-focused initiatives, I would be delighted to connect.
Let’s build the pathway from education to opportunity.
